Taking a base-quality 1980’s face-brick house, MHDP re-utilised the existing building structure to create a new beach house that opened up to the views and sunlight. A floating roof form spanning through the entry way, constructed like a boat hull or airplane wing, gives the building a sense of lightness. The use of materials such as stone, natural timber and white washed timber planking, along with Babette Hayes Interiors, created a true beachside oasis.
