POINT PIPER RESIDENCE

Description – RESTORATION / REFURBISHMENT – 4 UNITS TO SINGLE DWELLING

Location of Project –  POINT PIPER

Year Project Commenced – 2006

MHDP Architects was alone in seeing and describing to the Client that there was an opportunity in the dilapidated apartment building to re-discover the original family residence – whereas all advice they had received prior to MHDP’s involvement was to demolish and rebuild.  The Client was very pleased they listened to MHDP’s advice.

This 1920’s house was originally built for an Admiral and subsequently converted to four apartments.  By removing non-contributory elements internally, the house was opened up to provide a circulation spine and introduce natural ventilation and sunlight amenity.  Sympathetic additions along with considered landscape transformed this property into a classic home.

Pimas Gale MBA Winner 2011 for alterations and additions.
